Stretch Marks

Stretch marks, also known as striae, are a form of scarring in the skin. They form as a result of rapid expansion or stretching of the skin, as can occur with rapid growth (i.e. during puberty) or weight gain (pregnancy, body building, etc.) Stretch marks occur commonly on the abdomen, waist, breast, upper arms, thighs, hips and buttocks.

While some topical prescription medications have been proven to modestly improve the appearance of stretch marks, laser treatments offer the best hope for significant improvement. Treatments are relatively quick with minimal to no downtime. Depending on the individual and type of stretch marks present, approximately 3-6 treatments nay be needed for optimal results.
