Laser Treatments Options in Sacramento, CA

Using only state-of-the-art laser devices, we offer the following laser treatments at Granite Bay Dermatology & Laser Center.

Clear + Brilliant

Clear + Brilliant helps improve your skin by encouraging new skin growth and stimulating the skin’s natural collagen production to enhance the skin’s overall quality. This treatment aims to address the texture, tone, and tightness for healthier, younger-looking skin on the face, including the cheeks and around the eyes. It can also treat hyperpigmentation, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and improve skin firmness and overall texture.

Fraxel Re:pair®

The Fraxel Re:pair® is an ablative fractional laser used for skin resurfacing. It uses precision pinpoints of light to create thousands of microscopic treatment areas on your skin. The laser penetrates deeply to address damaged tissues and stimulates the body’s natural healing process to restore fresh, healthy skin. Due to its ablative process, Fraxel Re:pair® removes more damaged tissue in one treatment session, maximizing results. However, some social downtime is expected with this enhanced treatment.

Fraxel Re:pair® treats many areas, including the face, neck, chest, and hands, and it can address:

  • Wrinkles
  • Irregular texture
  • Abnormal pigmentation
  • Sun-induced redness
  • Scarring, including acne scars

LightSheer® Infinity

Laser hair removal with LightSheer® Infinity offers an efficient, non-invasive approach to permanently reduce unwanted hair on all skin types. This versatile treatment can safely eliminate undesired hair from all parts of the body. With no downtime, LightSheer® Infinity can treat large areas quickly with less pain and discomfort than other treatment methods.

LightSheer® requires multiple treatments as it only affects hair follicles in their growth phase. During your consultation, our team will advise you on the approximate number of treatments.

PiQ04 Picosure Laser

The PiQ04 Picosure laser channels powerful bursts of light energy that target the blemishes in the treatment area, causing the skin discoloration (melanin) to break down and get absorbed by the body. Picosure also stimulates collagen production to help tighten, heal, and smooth the skin for an overall improved appearance with minimal downtime. Though patients typically experience some redness for about an hour, they can resume most normal daily activities immediately following their treatment.

Picosure can be used to address the following areas of concern:

  • Freckles
  • Age spots
  • Brown spots
  • Sunspots
  • Liver spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Mild skin laxity

Max G IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

The Max G IPL system is effective at treating the first signs of sun damage—the brown spots or patches, the dull texture, and finally, the wrinkles. Most patients achieve optimal results with a series of three to four treatments, depending on the skin’s condition and the treatment’s location.

The Max G IPL system allows us to offer a more intense technique called photodynamic therapy (PDT). PDT not only addresses sun damage and pigmentation but also improves skin texture by treating acne and pre-skin cancers. Typically, patients require fewer PDT treatments than with IPL treatment alone.

With Max G IPL, we can treat different areas of the body, such as the face, neck, chest, and arms, with skin concerns like:

  • Sun damage
  • Sunspots or age spots
  • Rosacea
  • Spider veins

MedLite®

The MedLite® laser is an effective tool for treating pigmented lesions and removing tattoos. MedLite® can safely remove brown spots and tattoos in an array of many colors from the face, hands, arms, and legs. It works by passing light energy into the skin in different wavelengths to break down the ink or pigment into tiny particles that can be filtered through the body’s natural waste elimination systems.

StarLux 1540®

The Palomar StarLux 1540® is a non-ablative fractional laser used for skin resurfacing. While leaving the surface of the skin intact, the StarLux 1540® laser directs light pulses into the deeper layers of the skin, resulting in no wounds and a quicker recovery time.

Usually, patients experience the best results following a series of treatments scheduled three to six weeks apart. However, positive changes are typically noticeable after a single treatment.

The Star Lux 1540® can be used on most areas of the body including the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and abdomen to address:

  • Uneven pigmentation, including melasma
  • Irregular texture
  • Wrinkles
  • Scarring, including acne scarring and surgical scars
  • Stretch marks

V Beam® Prima

The V Beam® laser is a pulsed dye laser that delivers an intense, but gentle, burst of light into targeted areas, causing superficial blood vessels in the skin to shrink or disappear. V Beam® effectively treats skin conditions like rosacea, enlarged capillaries, hemangiomas, port wine stain birthmarks, and poikiloderma. The versatile V Beam® Prima can also treat scarring, including stretch marks.

While many patients will need multiple treatments for optimal results, many experience significant improvement after only one treatment.

Why Choose Laser Treatments?

With many versatile laser options to offer, our team at Granite Bay Dermatology & Laser Center can help you improve many skin concerns on the face, body, and hands with the appropriate treatment device to restore your skin’s health and appearance.

Many laser treatments offer significant benefits, including:

  • Minimal downtime

  • “Bloodless” surgery with many lasers
  • Less scarring, in most cases
  • Precision-controlled treatment, limiting injury to healthy skin
  • Safe and effective outpatient procedures for many skin conditions

What Can I Expect During a Laser Treatment?

At Granite Bay Dermatology, Dr. Hearth tailors each laser procedure to address each patient’s individual needs. However, here are some general steps you can expect.

1

Before Your Laser Treatment

Before your laser treatment, Dr. Hearth may recommend preparing your skin for a few weeks prior to your procedure. A consistent skincare routine may enhance the effectiveness of your laser treatment.

Before a laser treatment, you may need to:

  • Avoid facial treatments, sun exposure, and tanning for a month
  • Stop using aggressive facial products or medications as directed
  • Take antibiotic medications as directed to avoid infection
  • Tell your provider if you are prone to cold sores
  • Avoid medications that increase photosensitivity for two to three days
  • Stay hydrated

2

Check-In

After you arrive, you’ll be greeted and checked in by our team. Dr. Hearth will ensure you are comfortable, answer any last questions, evaluate the treatment area, and review your procedural plan before beginning your laser procedure.

3

Laser Procedure

Before beginning your laser procedure, your skin may be treated with a topical anesthetic to ensure you remain comfortable throughout the procedure. Most patients report a warm sensation on the skin. You will be provided with protective eyewear.

Our expert team will guide the laser device across the targeted area to deliver heat energy to encourage collagen production and address the signs of aging to improve the skin’s overall appearance.

Depending on the treatment areas and laser device used, each laser treatment takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

Due to Dr. Hearth’s experience and expertise in laser procedures, he tailors your treatment to address your specific needs and anatomy rather than providing a “cookie cutter” treatment. It’s his meticulous attention to detail that allows Dr. Hearth to help restore your skin with natural-looking results.

4

Laser Procedure Aftercare

Many laser treatments require minimal downtime, and patients may resume most normal activities immediately following treatment. However, depending on your specific treatment, you may experience mild redness, swelling, or bruising, but it typically resolves within a few hours to a few days. Cold compresses may help alleviate discomfort.

It is essential to thoroughly follow Dr. Hearth’s instructions to ensure optimal results from your laser treatment, including:

  • Keep your skin clean and moisturized
  • Avoid wearing makeup, sun exposure, exercise, and excessive sweating
  • Wear sunblock with an SPF of 45+ as your skin will be sensitive
  • Avoid aggressive facial products or products that may cause irritation

How Soon Will I See My Laser Treatment Results?

Depending on your laser treatment, you may experience side effects, such as redness or swelling for one to two weeks. As these effects resolve, you will begin to notice improvements in the appearance of your skin. Many patients begin to experience visible improvements to their features within a week.

Most patients experience the best results following a series of laser treatments. During your consultation, Dr. Hearth will determine how many sessions you will need to reach your aesthetic goals.
